Quick Overview:

Leica 28mm f2 Summicron-M Asph "Safari" Edition

The essential and versatile 28mm Summicron-M is a staple of photographers who want a compact and fast wide-angle lens that gets the user into the action and is capable enough for everyday use. Offered for the first time in the exceptionally hard-wearing olive green "Safari" finish, it perfectly matches the Leica M10-P Edition "Safari" camera while featuring a new built-in telescoping hood design. Performance and technical specifications of the lens are otherwise identical to those of its serial production counterpart. Limited to 500 lenses worldwide.

At its maximum aperture, the Summicron-M 28mm f/2 ASPH already delivers impressively rich contrast, differentiated reproduction of even the finest structures, a soft and smooth bokeh and extremely high resolution. This is due to its recalculated optical design, which almost completely eliminates the astigmatic differences in the image field caused by the cover glass of the sensor to ensure excellent image quality from corner to corner in every picture.

The Essentials:

  • Compact and versatile, ideal for reportage photography
  • Excellent image quality from corner to corner of every picture
  • Outstanding speed and wide-open sharpness delivers brilliant images even in difficult lighting situations

Limited to 500 units worldwide.

The Summicron-M 28 f/2 ASPH. and the APO-Summicron-M 90 f/2 ASPH. in olive green paint are the perfect match for the previously released Leica Summicron-M 50 f/2 and Leica M10-P Edition "Safari" – making for an even more expansive set that is a truly special collection of unique designs following the lineage of "Safari" cameras and lenses from Leica.

The Summicron-M 28 f/2 ASPH. Edition "Safari" wide-angle is limited to 500 units worldwide. The APO-Summicron-M 90 f/2 ASPH. Edition "Safari" portrait lens is limited to just 250 pieces worldwide. These lenses match their serial production counterparts in terms of both performance and technical specifications.
